Skaneateles lake of course is one of our largest with lake trout,perch,walleye,bass,and many others. Deruyter lake is smaller but dont underestimate it great walleye ,bass,perch,pickeral,bluegill and crappie.Eaton reservior even smaller but a fantastic fishery with many jumbo walleye ,brown trout,crappie,bass,bluegill and crappie. Deruyter lake and Eaton reservoir have fantastic hardwood structures most of the forests were removed before flooding leaving stumps five feet tall and several feet around. most people wonder why there. all five feet tall . in the 1800s men were paid by the tree barb wire was mainly nailed on trees instead of fence post. workers got paid for cutting trees not sharpening saws. all the wood is still intact holding fish and bait on structures.We have also found dwellings left in these lakes. still standing in the beam structure. our garmin panoptics find alot of stuff on live view including buildings old mills things that people drive over and never see.
